Rethinking quality inspection:
AI-powered automated visual inspection.
auros for quality
Are you familiar with the challenges of manual visual inspections in production?
Increasing product variants, small batch sizes, and a shortage of skilled workers are making efficient quality control more difficult than ever.
Our solution: auros for quality – an AI-based inspection system that works directly on the production line, processes data locally, and can be tailored to individual requirements.
Discover how auros for quality integrates seamlessly into your production environment.
Why traditional systems often fail in the manufacturing industry:
Production environments are evolving rapidly. Small batch sizes, frequent changeovers, a wide variety of product variants, and increasing quality requirements demand flexible inspection systems. Conventional visual inspections and rigid machine vision solutions often struggle to keep pace.
Limited scalability in environments
with high product variation
Dependence on cloud services
and external specialists
Lack of transparency in interfaces & integration challenges
High costs for customization
and maintenance
How AI ist transforming quality control.
Our approach at Danube Dynamics.
auros for quality is an AI-powered inspection system specifically designed for the demands of high-variant manufacturing environments. It combines powerful edge hardware with intelligent software to ensure full data sovereignty and maximum flexibility in deployment.
100 % local intelligence – full data sovereignty
Avoid cloud dependencies: auros for quality processes all image and process data directly on site by using a robust edge device.
This protects sensitive production data, minimises latency and enables operation even without an internet connection.
Open interfaces – easy to integrate
Thanks to standardised protocols such as REST API, OPC UA or digital/analogue I/Os, the system can be seamlessly integrated into your existing infrastructure – including robot control, PLC, ERP or MES.
This reduces project effort and increases flexibility.
Flexible AI – capable of learning without expert knowledge
With the integrated web app auros:teach, your teams can train new products or defect patterns independently, without external support. No third-party providers, no waiting times.
This keeps your quality assurance agile, even with frequent product changes.

"When developing auros for quality, we consistently focused on the requirements of modern production environments. The result is a system that is highly adaptable and easy to integrate, while also offering robust security for sensitive production data."
This is how auros for quality works.
Take a look at our solution.
Our solution is based on powerful AI technology that runs on an industrial edge device, free from any cloud constraints.
This means that you retain full control over your data. Meanwhile, open interfaces allow for smooth integration with your existing systems.
The Industrial Camera auros:eye continuously monitors materials on machines or conveyor belts and transmits the data to the auros:edge system.
auros:edge uses customer-specific AI models to evaluate these images.
These models analyse images and objects for quality assessment.
Available functions:
- Anomaly Detection Identification of deviations (shape, colour, etc.)
- Quantity: Verification of the number of items detected in the defined section
- Class Detection: Identification and counting of object types & error classes
Evaluation results are accessible via interfaces for other systems and can be visualised (tablet, PC, HMI). Supported interfaces: Ethernet, serial, digital I/Os, WiFi, EtherCAT, Modbus, ProfiNet and Profibus.
Optional available modules:
auros:teach:
Intuitive interface for easy AI training, even for non-technical personnel.
auros:UnitCheck:
Extension for electrical testing and functional testing of interfaces.

Optical Quality Control with "auros for quality" - FAQ:
auros for quality is an AI-based solution for optical quality control that has been specially developed for manufacturing companies with a wide variety of products and small batch sizes. It reliably detects defects in real time and helps to automate or supplement manual visual inspections.
Unlike conventional systems, auros for quality works with learning AI:
– No complex programming of test rules
– High flexibility in the event of product changes
– Detection of even complex or unexpected error patterns
– Full data sovereignty thanks to completely local calculation (cloudless)
– Reliability and low latency through edge processing directly on site
The solution can usually be integrated without extensive modifications. The auros system is designed as a modular add-on component and, depending on the application, is connected directly to cameras, sensors, machine control or MES and integrated into the process. Our team of experts accompanies the entire integration process, ensuring full functionality in your specific use case.
We work closely with your team or the responsible automation partner to ensure smooth and future-proof integration.
The system supports two flexible training approaches, depending on the availability of data and the inspection strategy:
-
Anomaly detection based on good parts:
The AI learns what a "normal" product looks like exclusively from examples of good parts. Anything that deviates from this is recognised as a potential anomaly. This approach is ideal when there are no or only a few defective parts available – for example, in the case of new products or rare defects. -
Classification with good and bad parts:
If defect patterns are already known and documented, the AI can be specifically trained to recognise specific defect classes. This is suitable, for example, for series production with clearly defined inspection characteristics or for feedback loops from quality management.
Depending on its scope and complexity, a typical project takes around 4 to 12 weeks.
After a joint proof of concept, integration takes place, followed by renewed AI training to increase robustness and productive commissioning.
The PoC is a key component in the joint evaluation of the project:
– Joint workshop to analyse the processes and boundary conditions on site
– Setting up a provisional system in isolated operation to test technical feasibility
– Test run to verify the desired detection performance
– Fine-tuning of recognition or addition of missing components, if necessary
– Final meeting with presentation of results, concrete cost breakdown and ROI calculation based on the customer's situation
